Introduction.

Welcome to NJ Baseball web's Series on starting a travel baseball team. The series will consist of several different topics about travel baseball and starting a team. Most of the information will be geared to new teams starting out  but some established teams may pick up a few things.

Let me start of with saying I am in no way an expert in travel baseball nor do I pretend to be .There are many people in travel baseball who know more and coach better then I ever will. This is not a exact science on starting a travel team. It is just in my experiences things I wish I had heard before starting my own team. With that let me say my grammar is not the best either so let me apologize upfront for all my mistakes.

Who am I and what is my experience. Well who am I is not as important as what is my experience. But for name sake my name is Brian . I chuckle with that because when I started NJ Baseball web  the number one question I received on e-mail's was who is running this site. I really guess that matters to some. I guess anyone who has been involved in travel baseball or a rec league knows you usually have some people who don't like you.

Well enough of that. My experience with travel baseball is nothing more then a few years ago I was looking for my son to play ball during the fall. There was no rec or travel that anyone knew of in our town, so I looked out of town and found a team. After discussing the league with the manager I realized we can start our own team in our town. So myself and some coaches started a town travel team. Well after a few years and a lot of help from some great people that team turned into a club of 14 teams playing travel and tournaments from Florida to New York. I can honestly say I am amazed at the response of the kids who wanted to play baseball. So over the few years I picked up a little experience.

I wanted to write the series to maybe help a few people . If I had some of the knowledge I have now the road would of been a lot easier. I just want people to have the resources in travel baseball I didn't that is what NJ baseball web is about getting information to teams and players who need it. So there you have it a little about me and the reason for the site and the series.

So stop back take a look I will be working on the series through out the winter and hope to have the first topic up soon.

If anyone has any comments or ideas for the series feel free to e-mail me at brian@newjerseybaseballweb.com
