NJ BASEBALL WEB SPRING CHALLENGE SPECIAL RULES
All other rules listed with the exceptions listed below.
Pitching Rules: No pitcher may pitch more then two innings.
No Team grading will take place
Only four teams will advance to playoffs.
Fall & Summer Rules
Jersey Wood Bat League will use Little league Baseball Rules for all games on 46/60 field and National federation of High school rules for the 50/70 and 60/90 Diamond with the following exemptions.
Minimum Play Rule: There are no minimum play rules. It is the Managers discretion.
Speed up rule: With two outs the catcher can be run for with the last batted out.
Pitching Rules: A pitch count will be used.
Rules:

8-10 yr old teams pitcher may not throw more then 75 pitches in any one outing
10-12 yr old teams pitcher may not throw more then 85 pitches in any one outing
12-15 yr old teams pitcher may not throw more then 95 pitches in any one outing
No pitcher may pitch on consecutive days unless pitcher threw 20 or less pitches.
No pitcher may re enter as pitcher once removed.
Batting Order& Substitutions: Teams may bat a continuos batting order if using continuos batting you can use open substitution.
Teams may elect to bat 9 players if team elects to bat only nine they may use substitutes. A starter may only re enter once. subs may not re enter. At no time can a starter and his sub be in the batting order at the same time. A pinch runner( unless both teams are using nine in the batting order with substitution.) or special pinch runner may not be used.
in a case of injury a runner may be exchanged and it must be the last batted out.
If players are removed from the batting order at anytime in the game that spot in the order will be counted as an out the first time around after that the batting order will then shrink and that spot will skipped.
In the case of an injury the player may be removed and with opposing Managers approval, that spot can be skipped. In the event the managers can't agree the spot in the order will count as an out and the order will shrink. The injured player will not be allowed to return to the batting order.
Players arriving after a teams first at bat must be inserted at the bottom of the batting order.
Games will not start if a team does not have 9 players. A team will be given 15 minutes to produce the ninth player or the game will result in a forfeit. If at anytime a teams batting order shrinks below nine players the game will be considered complete at that time and that team will receive a forfeit.
Balks: one warning per pitcher on balks will be given to 11U ,12U 50/70 and 13U 60/90 for regular season games. During Playoffs there will be no balk warnings.
Guest Players: Guest players may be used. All guest players must be registered with the league and cannot be on a roster of another team in the same age group. All Guest players must be approved by league office and can only be used in forfeit situations. Teams must notify league office two days before a guest player is used.
Roster: a online team roster will be posted for each team on the JWBL site for opposing managers to review.
Bat Restrictions: Wood Bats only
Cleat Restrictions: Metal Cleats may only be used on the 60/90 Diamond.
Helmets: All batters and Catchers must wear an approved helmet with a nosc safety stamp on it.
Standings & Team Grading: Divisions will be divided into two divisions first by team ability and second by geographical locations. The Divisions will be Major and AAA ( and if needed AA). To keep the competition consistent teams should grade themselves appropriately.
To help keep the competition consistent any team who wins a division must move up the next season to the higher division of play. The last place team in a division will be dropped to the lower division.
Game completion is important to the success of JWBL. Teams must play at least 7 of their regular season games in order for a team to qualify for playoffs. If any time the league director feels a team is not making a good faith effort to make up a game that team will receive a forfeit and the opposing team will receive a win.
Season will consist of 9 games the top 5 teams will make the playoffs.
